You don't gain much by disabling them, only a slight decrease (<1 kB/s-ish) in overhead transit as DHT will be searching and connecting to peers even if you don't use it in any of your (private flagged) torrents. Jul 10, 2009 · I can't seem to find an answer on the web that makes sense to me. When I'm using Utorrent should I disable DHT, should I keep it enabled, or does it not matter? If I should disable it or keep it enabled, what exactly does that do for me that the other doesn't? For both torrents DHT is disabled, so downloading will depend on finding the right tracker. According to utorrent there are both seeds and peers, but the peers are all on 0%. I have seen the same issue with other torrents without DHT, with peers not able to get data from me, and it has taken me many months to seed back.
