Sep 17, 2007 · i keep losing internet connection every 2 minutes or so. do not lose connection to router though. i have to reboot the router to get the internet connection again.
Modem is a Arris Surfboard SB6141. The Internet Light on the router goes to Amber and thats when I lose internet. I tried multiple diffrent Ethernet Cables and same issue. I ordered a Cat7 cable and it improved the speed but still cuts out daily. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Its over a year so no support from Netgear. These advanced routers normally work really well with the latest gadgets and computers, but on older machines, you can sometimes run into issues. The router will show the magenta ring, and all connected devices (both wired and wireless) will lose Internet connectivity. The first time I power-cycled the router, my Internet connection eventually came back to life, but the second time, I got the flashing white ring that indicated it was putting itself in factory default mode. The DSL/internet light is off and I have no internet connection both wired and wifi. I have to turn my modem on and off and then it is ok for an hour or so before the light is off again and I have no internet connection. I have plugged in the modem I was using prior and the modem did not loose connection once so the problem is with the D7800. Go to the internet status, it shows Good, but everything connected to the router cannot access internet. Have to click the Test button, and the router will reboot itself, and that resolves the issue tempararily, but it will come back soon.
